So when the mature women, young women, men with beards and kids all denigrate the guy who’s standing in front of the compact, it naturally reinforces the idea that to be a ‘real man’ you should own a truck. Sadly, this has been happening more and more lately. Twice in the last month, I left my debit card sitting in the ATM machine and had to replace it.
One gets very philosophical following an experience like this. I know that if I reread all the blogs that I wrote following the operation, besides my observations of the Montreal Heart Institute, its nurses and fellow patients, I would be able to see all the philosophical musings I entertained in the face of extreme suffering.
There are plans and then there are plans. There are expectations and then there is… reality.
Say, can I be grounded with both my feet on the earth? Can I feel rooted to Mother Earth with both feet on the ground?
